The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team got a strong showing during 2017 from their return game.
The Golden Hawks led class 2A district five with their 15 yard average per punt return. That number was 10th best in the state in class 2A. The Hawks were also third in the district, averaging 19 yards per kickoff return. Individually, Terrhyn Jacoby was second in the district for those with 20 or more kickoff returns on the season, averaging 20 yards per return. Keaton Duwa was fifth in the district among those with at least five returns, averaging 25 yards. Duwa was also fourth in the district at 15 yards per punt return, among those with at least five returns on the season. The Golden Hawks ended the year with a 3-6 overall record.
