The Washington (3-1) football team will look to bounce back tonight under the lights of Case Field as they host Fairfield (1-3) for homecoming.
The Demons still control their own destiny for a postseason spot, despite their 40-0 loss to Solon last week. The Demons were held to 129 yards of total offense but expect the up-tempo attack to find their rhythm again, as the Trojans has given up an average of 40 points per contest. Since taking over the reigns at quarterback for the injured Ryan Reighard, Luke Turner has led the Demon rushing attack with 304 yards on 40 carries and one touchdown. The core offensive line of Ryan Ellis, Collin Murphy, Keith Zabel, Mitchell Huisenga, and Mark Engleken have paved the way for the highest rushing team in the district with 956 yards. Jaivonn Willis continues to be Turner’s main target through the air with 15 receptions for 246 yards and three scores.
Once again the Demon secondary will be tested, as Fairfield has aired the ball out the third-most times in the district. Carson Crile is the junior quarterback who has completed 41 of his 91 passes for 553 yards and five touchdowns. Tristin Waugh is his leading receiving with 14 receptions for 238 yards. Defensively Drew Martin leads the Trojans with 33 tackles.
The homecoming parade will get started at 2 p.m. followed by the game at 7:30 p.m. at Case Field. You can hear all of the festivities on KCII.
