Several KCII area cross country teams make the trip to Waterworks Park in Fairfield Thursday.

The Washington Demons will be in action for the first time since last week’s meet in Ottumwa. The Washington boys were third of nine teams a week ago with Brennan Horak finished fourth overall.

The Washingon girls were fourth at Ottumwa with Brooke Stout taking the top spot in 18th.

Iowa Mennonite School will also run tonight in Fairfield. This is the first time they have been in action since they hosted their early bird meet Tuesday, August 29th. The IMS boys were ninth of 10 teams at the event led by Levi Geyer who was 17th overall. Geyer is ranked No. 15 in class 1A in this week’s individual runners poll from the Iowa Track Coaches Association.

The IMS girls were 10th of 10 teams at their own event. Top finish came from Sarena Gerber in 34th.

The Highland Huskies will also be in Fairfield tonight. They ran at Keota on Tuesday night taking second as a team with Taylor Sublette leading the way in third place overall.

The Lone Tree Lions are coming off of a team championship at the Keota Inviational. The Lady Lions were led by Macie Bopp and her runner-up finish at Lagos Acres.

Winfield-Mt. Union last ran Tuesday at Van Buren.

Action begins at 5p.m. and continues into the evening at Waterworks Park in Fairfield.
