The Lone Tree football team continued their solid start to the season by defeating HLV in a hard fought battle 39-24 on Friday.

The Warriors came out guns blazing by taking the opening kickoff to the house for an early 7-0 lead. The Lion offense went to work however, as Bryce Houser scored a pair of first half touchdowns and Harmon Miller connected with Keegan Edwards for a score from 12 yards out. Lone Tree took an 18-6 lead into the break. The Lions dashed the Warriors hopes early in the second half when Brock Smith found Matt Selck from 55 yards out for a touchdown. The Lion defense did enough to hold off HLV and capture the 39-24 victory. Miller finished the night seven of 14 for 115 yards and two scores by adding one more on the ground. Houser carried the rock 18 times for 92 yards and two touchdowns. Lone Tree held HLV to just 178 yards of total offense.

With the win the Lions improve to 3-0 on the season and HLV drops to 1-2. The Lions will look to keep their undefeated season alive Friday hosting Springville.
