Washington County Veterans Affairs are partnering with an event at Kinnick Stadium this fall.

A Veterans Appreciation Tailgate is being September 30th. While the Hawkeyes play out of state, veterans and immediate family members are invited to watch the Iowa versus Michigan State game on 24 screens at Kinnick Stadium. The gates open at 10:15 a.m. Nine counties’ veterans affairs commissions have teamed up to help sponsor the event including Washington, Johnson, Keokuk, Henry, and Jefferson Counties, along with American Legions, VFW posts, and others.
