A Brighton man was arrested Thursday after hitting equipment in a construction zone with his vehicle.

According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 3:37 p.m. dispatch received a call that a Dodge Ram had driven slowly through construction on 275th by Dutch Creek and had hit a work vehicle. The Ram had hit an expandable desk off of the work truck and left debris. Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded and arrested 66-year-old Donnie Joe Brinning for operating while intoxicated first offense and unsafe passing. Damage to both vehicles was over $1,500. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
