Windstream customers in the KCII-listening area experienced outages Tuesday due to a fiber being cut.
Washington County Communications states cellular emergency calls were not impacted, but landline 911 calls were routed to Johnson County. According to Windstream’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs David Avery, a fiber was cut south of Riverside that affected customers in the area. The fiber was cut when crews were replacing a culvert between Riverside and Ainsworth. Avery states service was restored about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
