An Iowa Mennonite School student got a perfect score on the ACT this summer.
Senior Emma Beachy prepared the week leading up to taking the college readiness assessment, but even she was surprised at the news of her 36 point score, “I was trying to do my best obviously, and I was hoping to do well but I was not expecting a perfect score or anything like that. I was super shocked when I found out.”
A perfect ACT score is just the tip of the iceberg for Beachy’s achievements. Beachy is involved in many extracurriculars including 4-H, band, drama, choir, student government, the student newspaper, and she competed in discus at the state track and field tournament. Beachy shares the secret to her success, “It’s lots of late nights and early mornings for sure. But I think just staying organized and being disciplined. And making sure to set priorities are really important, deciding what you want to get done everyday and making sure that that happens.”
Beachy hasn’t determined what college she plans on attending next year, but she wants to study music, education, or history.
