U.S. Drought Monitor

Four counties in southeast Iowa are experiencing drought conditions.

Last week, none of Iowa was considered abnormally dry, now sections of Lee, Van Buren, Davis and Appanoose Counties are in that category. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, that equates to just 1.34% of Iowa. Overall, 7.5% of the Midwest is abnormally dry and 1.64%, which falls in northern Minnesota, is in moderate drought. Washington’s weekend forecast has mostly sunny skies with temperatures climbing into the mid-90’s by Monday. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
