The Mid-Prairie and Lone Tree softball teams squared off Friday night at Carr, Vincent, Gould Field in a match up of KCII area teams.

In a game heard on AM and FM KCII, the Golden Hawks took the win 5-3 in come from behind fashion. Lone Tree got on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a single run as Abby Buckman doubled to drive in Chloe Jacque. The Lady Lions doubled their lead in the fourth when Jacque drew a bases loaded walk and Buckman came in to score. Mid-Prairie exploded in the fifth, sending nine hitters to the plate in the five run frame, taking a lead they would not relinquish. Anna Vilovchik, Caitlyn Riggan, Kitty Conway, Georgia Nisley, and Karsen Jehle all scored runs. Claric Murphy and Abby Tornow delivered RBI extra base hits in the frame. Leading 5-2 the Golden Hawks called on Tornow in relief to get the six out save and seal the win. On the night Mid-Prairie was led by Conway and Murphy each with two hits. Cassidy Rourke got the win in the circle going five innings, giving up three hits, two runs, walking four and striking out four. Buckman led Lone Tree in the circle and at the plate, she finished with a pair of hits, and RBI and a run scored while throwing six innings, allowing seven hits, giving up five runs and striking out 12. With the win Mid-Prairie is now 5-7 on the season, Lone Tree falls to 0-10.
