The Riverside City Council continues discussing plans for solar energy panels at their water and wastewater plants.

The council has received bids from Precision Energy Services, Eagle Point Solar, Atwood Electric, Inc., HelioScope, and 1 Source Solar. Mayor Allen Schneider talks about the plans, “We’ve just been talking to a few different companies for awhile now about the possibility of putting solar power in our water and wastewater treatment facilities. Just because of the high energy use at those locations they seem like a good opportunity with some cost savings for a solar project.”

The council looked over the proposals at their meeting on June 5th, and they scheduled a special work session later this month to have the solar companies give presentations.
