Corn and soybeans in southeast Iowa are slightly ahead of the five-year average.
At this time, according to the Iowa Crop Progress and Condition Report, 92% of corn in southeast Iowa has emerged, and 68% of soybeans have emerged. In regards to moisture, southeast Iowa’s subsoil moisture is 92% adequate. The topsoil moisture is 23% short and 73% adequate. Across the state corn is rated at 78% good to excellent, and 73% of soybeans are good or excellent with 23% fair.
