The Washington 8th grade boys’ track team capped off their season on Monday with a fourth place finish in the conference at Burlington.

The Demons captured fourth place in the six-team meet with a total of 75.75 points. Ottumwa took home the conference championship with 159.5 points. Highlighting the night for the Demons was their lone champion Spencer Sotelo. His long jump leap of 17’4.5’’ claimed the gold and he also managed a pair of second place finishes in the 200m hurdles and the anchor leg of the 4×100 relay team. The team of Sotelo, Wyatt Stout, Bryan Martin, and Wilx Witthoft took second in 51.88 seconds. Other notable finishes for the Demons were Witthoft taking second in the discus, Kael Adam third in the shot put, and Stout third in the high jump. Thirteen members contributed to the scoring on a night that concluded the Demons’ season.
