Washington Archery is on the national stage this week as they compete in Louisville, Kentucky at the National Archery in the Schools Program Tournament.

The Lincoln Elementary School, Washington Middle School and Washington High School teams all qualified for the event with their performance in March at the Iowa state championships. The Washington Middle School team was second in the state out of 21 teams led by Anna Miller with her score of 283, taking fifth individually. On the boys side Curtis Stender was ninth with 282 points.

The Washington High School team qualified for nationals as the sixth best team in Iowa out of 23 teams. Samantha Mellinger led the Demons with a 292, taking second individually. John Sands shot a 283, 24th best individually.

Lincoln Elementary School was seventh in the field with Makynna Morgan shooting a 265 for fith place. Action continues the rest of the week at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville.
