The Washington Demon boys soccer team got out of the gates quickly on the road Monday night at Mount Pleasant, but the Panthers took the win 4-2.
Tony Torres came out firing for the Demons and beat the Panther defense 10 minutes into the game to give the Demons a 1-0 lead. The middle of the action however, belonged to the Panthers. Mount Pleasant scored three straight times to end the half and take a 3-1 lead into the break. Mount Pleasant would stretch their lead to 4-1 with a second half goal. Washington scored late on a Caleb Suchan bending free kick around the Panther wall to make the score 4-2 in the 77th minute but it wasn’t enough for the Demons. Thomas Zimmer had 12 saves in goal for Washington. With the loss the Demons are now 3-4 on the year.
