The Washington, Lone Tree, WACO and Winfield-Mt. Union boys track teams are all on the road tonight at Mount Pleasant.
The Demons were in action Tuesday at the Indian Relays in Wapello where they placed fifth, scoring 55 points. Caleb Bex won the 110 hurdles for Washington. Lone Tree hosted the Lone Tree Invitational Monday, winning seven events on their way to the championship. Brock Smith won the 400, 800 and 400 hurdles, Casey Shalla won the discus and the shot put, Nico Gosnell set a new school record in taking the high jump and Jovonte Squiers won the long jump.
The WACO Warriors were also at Lone Tree, finishing second as a team, winning five events. Cornell Hulme won the 100 and 200. The 4×100 team of Calvin Battle, Elijay McGowan, Colton Horak and Hulme, along with the shuttle hurdle relay team of Beau Beckler, Jackson Roth, Horak and Hulme and the 800 sprint medley team of Drew Kissell, Beckler, Battle and McGowan were all winners. Winfield-Mt. Union ran on Tuesday at the Indian Relays in Wapello, headlined by Brock Fricke who took third in the 3200.
Joining the four area schools in Mount Pleasant are Cardinal, Centerville, Central Lee, Danville, Fairfield, Fort Madison, Keokuk, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, New London, Pekin, Van Buren, Wapello, West Burlington and the home standing Panthers. Action begins tonight at 5 p.m. at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant.
