In the first week of April Washington has received approximately 1.5 inches of rain according to the National Weather Service and drought conditions have lessened across the state. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, last week nearly 5.7% of Iowa was in moderate drought, but that has been eliminated in the last week. Currently 11.65% of the state is abnormally dry, down from 17.66%. The abnormally dry area includes Keokuk, Washington, Jefferson, Henry and Louisa counties.
