Staff and residents are moving in to the $10.5 million addition at Halcyon House in Washington this week. The addition includes three separate units Sagewood, Rosewood and Wedgewood. Each household has 18 private bedrooms, a kitchen and community room. Chris Marshall, executive director, shares each private room will come with a Smart TV, an LED light, closet, and a headboard, nightstand and dresser. Also, every room has a zero-level entry shower.
The three households are connected by one main hallway. There’s also a doctor’s office, exercise facilities, and a beauty salon. A Snoezelen Room is located in the memory care household. It has lights, tactile pieces and sound effects to stimulate the brain.
Ground was officially broken on the project June 3rd, 2015.
