Residents of Washington are reminded they can take yard waste to the waste water treatment plant as they landscape and work on their yards this spring. The City of Washington’s Waste Water Treatment Plant and Yard Waste Center is located at 1065 West Buchanan Street and can be accessed off of Highway 1. The South E Avenue entrance is closed. The center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will also be open Saturday mornings from 7-10 a.m. April 22nd and 29th, as well as every Saturday in May. Yard waste and tree trimmings are accepted, remember if you didn’t grow it, don’t throw it.
