A flood warning is in effect for the English River at Kalona. The National Weather Service issued the warning Wednesday night through Friday morning. As of 6 a.m. Thursday water levels were just over 14 feet at Kalona, flood stage there is 14 feet. The river rose 5.3 feet from Wednesday to Thursday. The Iowa River at Lone Tree and Columbus Junction remains below flood stage, but water levels are rising. Near Lone Tree, the river was at 13.5 feet as of 6 a.m. Thursday, 1.5 feet below flood stage. At Columbus Junction water levels were about 1.7 feet below the 19-foot flood stage, after receiving 0.7 inches of rain Wednesday. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
