Drought conditions in Iowa lessened slightly from last week to this week. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, approximately 17.66% of Iowa is abnormally dry, down from 18.02% last week. The rate of moderate drought remained unchanged at 5.67%, which includes the southwest corners of Keokuk and Jefferson Counties. Washington, Louisa, Henry, Jefferson, Keokuk and the southern portion of Johnson County are abnormally dry. Washington received precipitation throughout the week, and more rain is expected Sunday, listen to KCII for weather updates.
