The Iowa Mennonite boys basketball team completed a 17 win campaign in 2016-17.

The IMS boys finished with an 11-5 record inside of the Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division, taking third place.

Offensively, IMS was third in the conference with a 48% team shooting percentage. They were fourth behind the arc at 32%. Their 55 points per game average placed them sixth in the league. On the defensive side of the ball, IMS was second in the Superconference with 237 steals. Their 113 blocked shots led the Superconference and were fourth most in the state. Iowa Mennonite struggled on the glass this year, pulling in 552 rebounds, eighth out of the nine teams in the Superconference.

Individually, Iowa Mennonite was led by Nick Yutzy, scoring 11 points per game. Yutzy also led the team with 107 assists, fourth most in the league and 71 steals, third most in the conference. Mitchell Schmeider was second in the Superconference and seventh in the state with 57 blocked shots. His 107 rebounds were best on the team and 10th in the Superconference.

Five members of the IMS boys team were named to All-Conference squads. Nick Yutzy was a first team selection, Cole Ours and Cole Yoder were second team selections. Reggie Borntrager and Caleb Gingerich were both honorable mention selections. IMS Head Coach Dwight Gingerich was named Southeast Iowa Superconference North Division Coach of Year.

The Iowa Mennonite boys finished the season with a 17-7 overall record.
