The champions of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North received multiple postseason accolades from the league’s coaches. This year’s all-conference teams have been released, and five members of the Highland Huskies boys’ basketball team (19-5) were named to the team.

Trent Lasek is a member of the All-SEISC North first team for a third straight season. He closed his high school hoops career ranked sixth in the league with 321 points scored. He topped the Huskies with 136 assists, the second most in the conference. Zach Lasek joins his older brother as a first-team all-conference performer. His first varsity basketball season featured a team-best 368 points scored, the fourth most in the SEISC North. He also topped the Huskies and ranked third in the conference with 170 rebounds and 40 blocks.

Bill Burton represents Highland on the second-team all-conference list. He swiped a team-best 74 steals. Burton grabbed 140 rebounds, the fourth most in the conference. He also was Highland’s third leading scorer with 226 points.

Jake Wood and Chase Rath are Highland’s honorable mention selections.

Highland closed the regular season with a 19-5 overall record, a three-win improvement from last year. They were the Class 2A District 9 champions, falling in the Substate 5 championship game to the Pella Christian Eagles. The Huskies lose Spencer Arnold, Burton, Bryce Clark, Riley Greicen, Trent Lasek, Rath, and Wood to graduation.
