A Washington graduate is continuing her collegiate softball career in the Sunshine State. Kaitlin Buchholz is 16 games into her senior season at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) in Melbourne, Florida. She’s started every game for the Panthers in centerfield, helping the squad to a 10-6 record.
Buchholz has recorded a .237 batting average this spring with nine hits in 38 at bats. She’s also scored 12 runs and driven in six more. Buchholz posts a 1.000 fielding percent with 29 put outs, three assists, and zero errors. The Panthers went on the road to face the University of Tampa Spartans (9-2) last night. FIT lost to Tampa, 2-0.
Buchholz and the Panthers softball team will play two more games with the Spartans today. First pitch of game one is set for noon (EST) and game two is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
