At around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a semi driver who had been rear-ended by a truck near Columbus Junction. The wreck happened near the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway X17 west of Columbus Junction. The sheriff’s office reported the driver of the truck, Jared Hanson of Washington, suffered minor head injuries, and the semi driver, Wesley Ragen of Ottumwa, was unharmed. The roadway was blocked for several hours as cleanup crews worked on scene, and progress was slowed by inclement weather. However, by 8 a.m. Wednesday, the road was once again passable. The Columbus Junction Police Department, Fire Department, and Ambulance assisted the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office at the snowy scene.
