With a vote of 5-1, the Washington City Council voted to table setting up a time frame for the sale of the former library building because an interested party has stepped forward with an offer. Today, City Administrator Brent Hinson is meeting with the realtors regarding the potential purchaser. Not much information was provided at Tuesday’s council meeting, Hinson said by working with the realtors and buyer he hopes to set terms that may be different than a typical real estate transaction, as they are looking for a redevelopment agreement. The deadline on the current offer is March 3rd. Hinson made clear that any potential development agreements would be under the consideration of the council. KCII News will bring you more information as it becomes official.
