After a month of consideration, the Mid-Prairie School Board has decided to adopt the elementary learning vision and focus areas as written by the elementary study group. The proposal was presented in December, and at their most recent meeting, the school board approved it in its entirety. According to Superintendent Mark Schneider, the proposal includes a vision for the elementary schools, and what they referred to as the top seven focus areas for reaching that vision. Among the focus areas are normalizing class sizes at the three elementary schools, as well as making learning more personalized.

Schneider said it was gratifying to know the board appreciated the group’s work. He explained, “The group spent over a year working on this. There was a lot of work put into it, and the board valued that work. And it showed that they valued that work by accepting their proposals as written.” The school board will now prioritize certain focus areas, and discussions will continue with members of the elementary study group about how to best tackle them.
