Four area girls’ basketball teams will battle for one semifinal spot in the Class 1A Region 6 tournament. The Lone Tree Lady Lions (14-3), the Keota Eagles (0-17), the Winfield-Mount Union (W-MU) Wolves (5-13), and the WACO Warriors (3-12) are grouped together for the first two rounds of the postseason. The field also includes No. 8 Easton Valley (11-1), Holy Trinity Catholic (9-8), Moravia (8-8), Moulton-Udell (6-10), No. 13 Notre Dame (13-4), New London (9-7), Prince of Peace (1-17), and Seymour (14-1).

The first round of the tournament is slated for February 9 with games set to tip off at 7 p.m. Lone Tree will entertain Keota for a second time this season. The Lady Lions displaced the Eagles, 41-14, on November 28. Two rival schools will reunite in Winfield when the W-MU Wolves host the WACO Warriors. The Wolves edged the Warriors, 47-39, on December 17. The winners will meet on February 14 in Lone Tree. The tournament semifinal will take place February 17 in Miles. The regional championship will be played February 20 at Muscatine High School.
