Pages from old books that may otherwise find their way to the garbage can or recycling will be given new live this Saturday as part of a wreath craft project at the Washington Public Library. This is the fifth year of the Christmas Gone Green event run by Jenisa Harris. She explains the wreath isn’t specifically Christmas themed, but more of a winter decoration so it can stay up all season.
Harris says she enjoys recycling the books in an artistic way, “I think it’s really important to learn how to use recycled materials and it’s giving the books new life. And it’s really fun that you can bring it out every Christmas and remember the time you spent doing it.”
Register by contacting the library by phone or stopping in by the end of the day Friday. The event will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
