The Iowa Mennonite boys and girls basketball teams open the home portion of their schedule tonight when Wapello travels to Hillcrest Union.

The IMS girls are 0-2 on the year after suffering a 60-24 loss at the hands of Lone Tree on the road Tuesday. Suzanna Yoder led IMS with 14 points. On the season Yoder leads Iowa Mennonite at 19 points per game. She also has a team high four assists and four steals. Alyssa Hershberger holds the team lead with 11 rebounds.

Wapello comes into tonight with an overall record of 1-1. In their last game they beat Winfield-Mt. Union 53-32. The Arrows were led by Eryka Dickey’s 14 points. On the season Dickey and Tiffany Parsons lead Wapello at 10 points per game. Parsons has five assists and eight steals to lead the team, Karlee Carey holds the team lead with 14 rebounds. These two squads met twice a year ago with Wapello winning 45-27 in Kalona and 41-22 at home.

In the boys contest, Iowa Mennonite comes in with an 0-1 overall record after falling at Lone Tree 52-35 on Tuesday night. Trevor Leyden led IMS with 10 points off the bench. Cole Yoder had seven rebounds. Wapello is 1-0 on the year, blasting Winfield-Mt. Union on the road Tuesday 69-43. Trenton Massner led the Indians with 19 points. These two teams met twice a year ago with IMS winning 67-55 in Kalona, while Wapello defended their home court with a 72-63 win.
