Postseason accolades continue to accumulate for three members of the Washington Demon football team. The Iowa Newspaper Association released their all-state football teams for all classes on Tuesday, and Javionn Willis, Seth Townsen, and Bryce Sinn are on the Class 3A squad.
Willis is Washington’s lone first-team all-state performer as a defensive back. He compiled 10.5 total tackles and caught one interception. Willis also earned first team all-state honors last year as a sophomore.
Seniors Bryce Sinn and Seth Townsen represent Washington on the all-state second team. Sinn was named as a defensive lineman. The Class 3A District 5 most valuable defensive lineman recorded 64 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and four fumble recoveries. Townsen was named one of the team’s offensive linemen. His blocking efforts helped Washington’s offense rank fourth in the state with an average 7.3 yards per carry and 38.4 points scored per game.
Washington ended the season with a 6-3 overall record, their sixth- straight winning season. The Demons will graduate 17 seniors.
