Downtown Washington’s annual event to kick off holiday shopping is happening this Friday. Main Street Washington’s Twilight Shop and Stroll will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. this Friday. Sarah Grunewaldt, director of Main Street Washington, says there are 11 businesses taking part featuring special sales with a variety of items and Christmas music will be playing. She adds it’s a nice time to start gift shopping and helps alleviate some of the stress people feel when they wait until the last minute.

Grunewaldt adds there’s something downtown for everyone on your list. Shopping local helps the local area with 72 cents of every dollar spent in town staying in the community.
