A $1.5 million project is now officially complete in the City of Washington. At Tuesday’s Washington City Council meeting a resolution accepting industrial park RISE improvements was approved. RISE stands for Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy and funds come from the Iowa Department of Transportation for these grants. The industrial park is on the south side of Washington, off of Highway 1. The council awarded a construction contract to DeLong Construction, Inc., for the industrial park water main project. Council also approved a change order related to the project. Change Order No. 5 decreased the total contract amount by $22,355.58. The City is now working with Washington Economic Development Group to sell lots at the industrial park.
