Today is Election Day, the final day to cast ballots in Iowa. Polls are open a total of 14 hours today, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 9 p.m. There are four wards in the City of Washington and the four polling places are the Washington County Courthouse, the Central Park Community Center, the former library building and Halcyon House. Around the county, voters will cast ballots in their respective precincts at the Ainsworth Fire Station, the Brighton Community Building, the Kalona Public Library, Riverside City Hall, the Wellman Parkside Activities Center and the West Chester Heritage Building.

Washington County Auditor Dan Widmer advises, voters in the Ward 4 precinct who vote at Halcyon House will need to approach from the north on South Avenue B. Sitler Drive is closed due to construction.
