Iowa’s governor and lieutenant governor visited Washington Wednesday to campaign for fellow republicans. Terry Branstad and Kim Reynolds stopped in Columbus Junction and the Pizza Ranch in Washington to meet with constituents and encourage them to vote. He said, “Who you elect does make a difference. And in Iowa, I’m proud to say, we’ve made great progress, but we have not had a Republican Senate to go with a Republican House.” Representative Jarad Klein and Washington County Attorney Shawn Showers were also in attendance, as well as Julie Peters, wife of Dr. Christopher Peters who is running for U.S. Congress. Branstad and Reynolds encouraged Iowans to vote early; they’re both voting absentee this year.
