The Mid-Prairie boys and girls cross country teams had a big performance Monday in Wellman at the Iowa Mennonite School Invitational.

The Mid-Prairie boys took home the team championship with their overall score of 28. Clear Creek Amana was second with 62 points. The Golden Hawks got a 1-2-3 finish from their top runners as Peyton Miller brought home the meet championship with a time of 16:54, Zach Pettit was second in 16:55 and Floyd Evans third in 17:26. Other runners for the Golden Hawks included Quinn Schmidt ninth, Andrew Schwartz 13th, Marshal Teets 19th and Brent Foster 20th.

The Mid-Prairie girls finished as runners up in the event with their overall score of 57 points. Solon took the team title with 54 points. The Mid-Prairie girls got a 1-2 finish from Anna Hostetler who took home the individual title with a time of 18:08, Marie Hostetler was second in 18:11. Other finishers for the Mid-Prairie girls included Abbagail Evans 13th, Kyleigh Graham 20th, Kessa Jones 21st, Greta Schmidt 22nd, and Abby Tornow 33rd.

The boys overall record now stands at 56-3 while the girls are 38-7. Both teams will be in action Saturday at the North Linn Invitational.
