A sophomore on the WACO Warriors’ football team (3-3 overall) continues to show off his versatility. The Warriors hosted the English Valleys Bears (0-5 overall) in a district matchup Friday at Roth Field. WACO scored 14 points in each of the first three quarters, cruising by the Bears, 49-0.

Colton Horak had a notable night. He recorded 210 yards of total offense (163 rushing) and four touchdowns (three rushing). He tallied 3.5 total tackles and two interceptions. Horak, the Warriors’ starting punter and place kicker, converted all seven extra point attempts. He also tallied touchbacks on seven of his eight kickoffs.

Quarterback Wyatt Harbison completed all five of his passes for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Tight end Matthew Leichty caught two passes for 33 yards and a touchdown. Running back Gabe Black added 51 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The win evens WACO’s overall record at 3-3, and improves the Warriors to 3-1 in district play. The Warriors will travel to Lone Tree next week for another district battle versus the No. 5 Lions (5-0 overall).
