A dominate performance on both sides of the ball helped the WACO Warriors’ (3-3 overall) achieve a .500 record last night. The Warriors hosted the English Valleys Bears (0-5 overall) at Roth Field in Wayland. WACO scored 14 points in the first three quarters, running away for a 49-0 victory.
Sophomore running back Colton Horak collected 210 yards of total offense (163 pass) and scored four touchdowns (three rush). Horak added 3.5 total tackles and intercepted two passes defensively. Quarterback Wyatt Harbison completed all five of his passes for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Warriors defense posted their first shutout in 8-man football, forcing four turnovers (three interceptions).
The victory improves WACO’s record to 3-3 overall and 3-1 in district play. The Warriors travel to Lone Tree this week for a battle with the No. 5 Lions (5-0 overall).
