Rain is expected to hang around the KCII-listening area through late Friday night. According to AccuWeather on Wednesday, Washington received nearly half an inch of rain and Riverside had 1.27 inches of precipitation. Heavy rain fell in the first six hours of the day today with Columbus Junction recording an inch of precipitation from 6 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. Even with all of the precipitation, the Iowa River at Lone Tree and Columbus Junction remains below flood stage, as does the English River at Kalona and the Skunk River near Sigourney (as of 6 a.m. Thursday).
