Dogs will take over the Steele Family Aquatic Center in Washington as part of the annual end of season dog swim. The pool season is coming to an end and before the water is drained dogs are invited to paddle around the facility. The 10th annual dog paddle will benefit PAWS and More animal shelter in Washington, previously funds had gone to the dog park in Sunset Park. Each year the shelter takes in 750 to 800 animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits and this week it’s first pig.

For $5 your dog can go swimming between 1 and 4 p.m. Sunday. For safety reasons the event is only open to spayed and neutered dogs, and a proof of rabies vaccination is required. There will also be microchipping services on site for $20.
