A section of 170th Street north of Washington will be closed to thru traffic for road construction beginning Monday. The construction will begin at Orange Avenue, roughly two miles east of Highway 1, and go to just east of Quince Avenue, spanning 2.34 miles. The Washington County Engineer’s Office said they are regrading and surfacing the road as part of Washington County’s Five Year Road Improvement Plan. The work will include reclaiming existing rock, replacing cross road pipes, and regrading the road to restore the cross sections and improve ditch drainage. Anyone with questions about the project is encouraged to reach out to the engineer’s office at 653-7731.
