Head Coach Andy Greiner and the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team finished the 2016 season with a 13-19 overall record.

Their 13 wins match the total from 2015. Mid-Prairie’s best stretch came in June when they won seven of nine games including sweeping a conference doubleheader with West Branch. Offensively the Golden Hawks finished sixth in the River Valley Conference south division in batting average, they were also sixth in slugging and third in on base percentage and runs scored.

On the mound Mid-Prairie’s team ERA was fourth in the league at 3.57. The Golden Hawks also recorded the fourth most strikeouts from their pitching staff at 142.

Individually, Mid-Prairie was led at the plate by Adam Schrock and his .322 average. Schrock’s 28 total hits were also best on the team. Keaton Duwa led the team with his 23 RBI. Duwa also led the Hawks with 24 runs scored. On the mound Brad Tornow held the team lead with an ERA of 1.58. Schrock logged the most innings on the hill with 44. His four wins were also most on the team. Mid-Prairie ended the season in the second round of district play.
