With the new school year approaching, one of the things on administrators’ minds is freshman orientation. Mid-Prairie principal Jay Strickland said their orientation is scheduled for August 23rd, at which time incoming freshmen will be able to go over their schedule, be given a tour of the building, and be issued their iPads. Mid-Prairie has one iPad for every student, which began last year, and Strickland said they’ve made quite a few changes and tweaks for this year. He believes they learned a lot from their first year. Finally, the freshman class will also meet with their seminar groups and teachers, which will give them the opportunity to get initiated into the school.
