The Iowa Mennonite School baseball team opens the tournament trail tonight when they travel to HLV to battle Iowa Valley in the class 1A district tournament.

Iowa Mennonite school enters tonight’s game with an overall record of 6-13. In their regular season finale they were beaten by Van Buren 7-0. On the season IMS is led at the plate by Drake Brezina, who is hitting .365 with 23 total hits, 18 runs scored and 19 RBI. On the mound Blake Bontrager has a team best two wins with 24 innings of work and a 4.03 ERA.

Iowa Valley comes into tonight with an overall record of 12-9. In their last game the Tigers fell to Belle Plaine 4-2. On the season they are led at the plate by Dylan Healey with his team best .448 batting average 26 hits, 22 RBI and 16 runs scored. On the mound Gavin Collingwood is 6-3 with 68 innings of work and a 2.37ERA.
