A former Lone Tree basketball standout is preparing for his final collegiate basketball season by playing summer ball against Division I players in the state. Bryan Forbes, a 2013 graduate of Lone Tree Community Schools, entered his name into the Prime Time Basketball League this summer.

Forbes, an incoming senior for the Briar Cliff University Chargers, was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference’s (GPAC) Defensive Player of the Year this past season after leading the Chargers in steals (69) and blocks (30). Forbes’ offensive game was notable as well, tallying 498 points in 34 games played during his junior season, earning him first team All-GPAC honors.

Forbes was drafted by the Marion Iron Co. and will play alongside current Iowa Hawkeye basketball players Dom Uhl and Brady Ellingson, and current University of Northern Iowa players Juwan McCloud and Lincoln Conrey.

The next night of Prime Time Basketball League games is scheduled for this Thursday when the Marion Iron Co. will square off against the Jill Armstrong Team at Skogman Realty at the North Liberty Community Center.
