The Iowa Learning Farms, the Rapid Creek Watershed Project, and the Iowa Soybean Association are partnering to host a cover crop and soil health field day this Thursday. The event will run from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Tom and Anita Wall’s farm in rural Iowa City. For the past 15 years, the Walls have been using no-till practices for both corn and soybeans, and the event will focus on educating attendees on that and other soil conservation practices. The event will also feature various speakers from around southeast Iowa, as well as the Conservation Station rainfall simulator which will demonstrate the effects of rainfall on different land use scenarios. This is a free event, but reservations are suggested to ensure enough space and food. For more information or to register, call 515-294-5429.
