Fresh off appearances in the state golf tournament, Washington sophomores Sarah Nacos and Dalton Myers will represent the Demons in the Class 2A Co-Ed Golf meet Tuesday at the Coldwater Links Course in Ames. The format for the event is alternate shot, where the girls’ will tee off on the even holes and the boys’ leading off on the odd numbered holes.
Nacos enters the tournament as the two-time Class 4A individual champion, carding a 12 over 154 during this weeks 36-hole state event in Ames. She bested the field by nine strokes.
Myers competed in the Class 3A boys’ golf tournament May 27 and 28 at the Spring Valley Course in Livermore. His two day score of 169 strokes was tied for the 34th best score in the field.
As freshmen, the duo placed eighth overall with a score of 81 strokes. The Waukee Warriors’ pair of Paige Seiser and Parker Howe won last year’s event with a score of 71. Last year’s event was held at the Briggs Woods Golf Course in Webster City.
