The Mississippi Regional Blood Center from Davenport is hosting a blood drive at the Washington Hy-Vee Thursday. Local organizer Yale Jarvis explained this time of year has a lot of people traveling, so it’s more difficult to find reliable donors. He does feel Washington has a good history of regular donors showing up for blood drives when needed.
The drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Blood Mobile Bus, which will be in the Hy-Vee parking lot. Donors can call ahead to schedule a time, but walk-ins are accepted. Every blood type is needed at the drive, and Jarvis said they can get four different products from a single donation.
