After a great showing last week at their district track meet in Eddyville, the Mid-Prairie boys track team qualified seven events for this week’s state meet in Des Moines.

Mid-Prairie’s Andrew Schwartz made the state meet field, qualifying 18th of 24 in the 800 with a time of 2:03.97, he will run at 10:30 Saturday morning. Luke Sigler will run the 1600 in Des Moines Saturday afternoon at 1:45. He qualified sixth in the field of 24 with his time of 4:37.05. Floyd Evans will run the 3200 Thursday morning at 10 on the blue oval, he qualified for state in 16th place out of 24 participants with a time of 10:25.48. In the throwing events Levi Duwa qualified in both shot put and discus. In the discus his throw of 146′ places him 14th of 24 competitors as state. In the shot put he qualified second with his throw of 55’9.50″. Both of his events take place Thursday morning.

In the relay events, the Mid-Prairie 4×800 team of Luke Sigler, Andrew Schwartz, Quinn Schmidt and Peyton Miller will run at noon on Thursday at state, they qualified fifth in the field of 24 with a time of 8:20.07. The Golden Hawk distance medley team of Schmidt, Miller, Cary Schaefer and Keaton Duwa will also be at state, qualifying 15th of 24 with their time of 3:42.70. They will run Friday at noon.
