An FBI agent, who was a 1941 graduate of Washington High School and served as a Marine durign WWII, will be remembered Sunday during a commemorative event in Washington. Mary Patterson, chair of the Washington Historic Preservation Commission shares this is for Terry Anderson who was killed in the line of duty May 17, 1966, while helping to rescue a 17-year-old girl who had been abducted and held captive for a week. His son, Michael, went on to become an FBI agent and retired in 2004. He and other FBI agents will be in attendance.
May is Preservation Month and Patterson adds it’s important to share local history and recognize local people. The public event will be held at 2 p.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
